About Demetrius

Demetrius Patterson is a Philadelphia native who has spent more than thirty years working with electricity and more than a decade as a SEPTA signal maintainer, keeping the trains in his city moving. He also teaches electrical courses at night, because he loves helping young people win.

He writes stories set in the Philadelphia he knows: the corner stores, the rowhouses, the El, and the people who hold one another together. Every book is its own story, and every book is part of the same city.

Look for the yellow vest.If you ever see a signal maintainer in a yellow vest and a yellow hard hat working the tracks in one of these books, wave. That's him.
